Sexual Dysfunctions In men

The term ?sexual dysfunction' is generally associated with the fair sex. But the cases of sexual dysfunction in men are on the rise since the past decade or so. Technically called Erectile Dysfunction (or ED or impotence), the disease is marked by the general inability of the male organ to achieve and maintain a satisfactory erection for an enjoyable sexual experience for both the partners.

Pfizer Inc. made a path-breaking breakthrough in the treatment of men's sexual health problems in 1996. Viagra was patented and later approved (in 1998) as the first oral drug for the treatment of male erectile dysfunction. There are estimated 30 million impotent men in the US alone and the treatment available before Viagra came in the market was largely painful. So, in a way Viagra came as a welcome relief for millions of patients world over.

Men's health issues became a major research area after 1996. Resultantly, the US FDA approved two more drugs in 2003 for the treatment of ED. Levitra and Cialis have entered the market with a bang and the sales graph of these drugs has registered a constant jump.

The rage for these drugs is understandable. Earlier, the treatment options available (like injections, surgery, penile implants etc.) for ED patients were quiet painful. Vacuum devices were also employed to draw blood into the penis. These are plastic cylinders that are placed over the penis and air is pumped out, causing a partial vacuum and erection. After the attainment of erection, a constricting band is placed at the base of the penis. This technique though effective has negative fallouts like pain, lower penile temperature, numbness, absent or painful ejaculation, and pulling of scrotal tissue into the cylinder.

But with Viagra, Levitra or Cialis (often called ?the miracle pills'), just forget the pain and enjoy the gain! You just have to pop the pill and relish the moment when two souls become one.

If you are charged up already, halt before you set out to buy Cialis or Viagra! Consult your condition with a qualified GP to get proper diagnosis and prescription since these drugs are prescription drugs and not available OTC. Complete Cialis information or information about Viagra or Levitra must be obtained before deciding the course of treatment because these drugs usually have some common and rarely, serious side effects.
